Samuel James Palmer
Doctor and family-planning pioneer
Died 2010Samuel James Palmer was a Gambian doctor associated with the development of private clinical care and reproductive-health services. Born in Basse, he served in the colonial and post-independence medical services and founded Westfield Clinic. He also helped establish the Gambia Family Planning Association in response to the needs of mothers and children.
